The Slice

Rules of the road, and then some

Saw the little boy across the street getting some lessons from his mom on how to ride a bike.

He seemed to be doing OK. Once he's mastered the basics, I'll walk over and help him prepare to deal with cyclist-haters.

You know, how to respond to complaints that bike riders don't pay taxes that support road-building (as if none of us have cars) or beefs that bike riders don't belong on the road (state law disagrees).

I don't want to scare the kid. But he might as well know what he's getting himself into.
