The Slice

Bird is the word

If you had been standing in our kitchen this morning and looked out the south-facing windows, you might have seen a large hawk perched atop a tall grape stake fence.

You might have wondered what the big bird was thinking. Here are a few guesses.

1. "Those urban chickens on the other side of this fence are interesting."

2. "Does Gary Larson live anywhere around here? I know he went to WSU. I'd really like to get his autograph on my "Birds of prey know they're cool" print.

3. "If one more person calls me a seahawk, it's going to be talons city."
