Don’t close the East Central Library

Spokane Public Libraries Director Pat Partovi addresses a packed room at a Library Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at the East Central Community Center. The board will decide later this fall if it will close the East Side Library, which is next door to the community center, because of a budget shortfall.

The East Central Library may be closed - neighbors are encouraged to show up at the Spokane City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. The blog got this e-mail from Joy Hart of the East Central Neighborhood Council this morning - it's a flier, ready to be printed out.
Also, here's a link to colleague Shawn Vestal's column about the potential library closure.
