Poll says voters’ mood improving

Voters are starting the year in an optimistic mood, a new survey by The Elway Poll suggests. When the Seattle-based pollster asked some 500 voter households whether they expected things to get better or worse over the next year or so, "better" was in the majority in all four categories. 60 percent said they thought things would get better for the country. That's up from only 45 percent six months ago. 64 percent said they thought things would get better for the state, the highest point since 2000. 68 percent said they thought things would get better for their community. 70 percent said they expected things to get better for their households. Optimism was highest in King County and lowest in Eastern Washington.
