Spokane County has about 9 percent of primary ballots in

State primary ballots are coming into the Spokane County elections office in a stream somewhere between a trickle and a torrent.

As of Monday's mail drop, elections officials had 27,684, or about 9.3 percent of the 298,011 mailed out this month.

A slightly higher percentage have been returned from the 4th and 6th Legislative Districts than the 3rd District. But because there are significantly fewer registered voters in the 3rd District -- about 15,000 fewer than either of the other two districts completely contained in Spokane County -- that means the 3rd lags in ballot returns.

Political junkies and election geeks can track the ballot returns on the Spokane County elections website. Click here and scroll down to ballot return statistics.
