Bank robbery near Sprague and Bowdish

The Sterling Savings bank near Sprague and Bowdish was robbed just before 2:30 p.m. Police are flooding the area. Dispatchers say the suspect is discribed as a white male, age 25-30, about 5' 6" tall and 130 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a dark coat, stocking cap and blue jeans. He brandished a chrome .45 caliber automatic handgun. More details when available.

2:40 update: Police found a piece of cloth the robber used to cover his face. A K9 is on the way to start tracking efforts.

2:49 update: Broadway Elementary School, located a few blocks from the bank, is locked down.

3:07 p.m.: Attention is focusing on a house on Skipworth. I have to leave the scanner, but check back tomorrow for more information.
