Spokane Valley

Thursday’s highlights

Now that we've taken a look a the future, here's a look at a few highlights from Thursday's Valley Voice. The re-visioning plan proposed by the East Valley School District has parents and teachers abuzz about what it will look like and when it will take effect. Reporter Lisa Leinberger wrote an update Thursday and the school board will have special meetings next week for those who want more details. The meetings are at 6 p.m. Monday at East Valley High School, 15711 E. Wellesley, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Trent Elementary School, 3303 N. Pines. The Tuesday meeting will be preceded by the board's usual business meeting at 6 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Spokane Valley City Council has made some moves toward purchasing its own equipment to broadcast city council meetings on cable and the internet while residents in the Newman Lake Fire District are still discussing building a new fire station. The Liberty Lake City Council recently heard about proposed budget cuts, including cutting library hours and closing the Trailhead Golf Course in the winter.
