Yummy dining options for Saturday

There are two groups hosting fundraising dinners Saturday night, but you'll have to choose one because they're happening at the same time. The Veradale United Church of Christ is hosting its 70th annual harvest dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 611 N. Progress Road. As always the menu features turkey with all the trimmings, ham, Swedish meatballs and squash from the church's garden. The long running dinner is the church's biggest annual fundraiser. Donations will be collected at the door.

For those of you a bit further south, head to an all-you-can-eat prime rib dinner hosted by the Fairfield Service Club to raise money for the annual Fairfield Flag Days celebration. The dinner will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center at 304 E. Main in Fairfield. The cost is $18 per person.

Although...maybe it's possible to visit the church's dinner and then head south for some ribs? Let me know if you try it.
