Drug take back and shred event

Residents can bring their old prescription drugs and documents to the Spokane Valley Police Precinct Saturday for free disposal. The drug take back and shred event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 12710 E. Sprague. You can bring in all types of drugs (including over the counter medications), vitamins, ointments, inhalers, liquid medicines and pre-dosed syringes (without needles). You can also bring up to three boxes or 150 pounds of documents for shredding.

Items that won't be accepted are needles, lancets, syringes, thermometers, hydrogen peroxide, medical waste, empty containers or personal care products. This is a great chance to clean out your cupboards and medicine cabinets and dispose of everything safely.
