What would you ask a political candidate?

I will be covering races in Spokane Valley and surrounding burgs, and I just sent out the first email asking all candidates for basic information and a photo. So far so good,

Next up are the opening questions for the candidates and I'm wondering what you would ask them? Would you want to know why the incumbent decided to run again? When the newcomer saw the light and filed for office? Is the candidate's educational background important to you? Religious views? Taste in music? What would you like to know about the people you will be voting for?

Here's a list of all the Spokane-area races to help you find your candidates.
