Let’s hope Pac-10 heat melts winter’s doldrums

COUGARS • UPDATED: 4:15 P.M.

Let's see. There is almost a foot of snow on my deck. The predicted high is 32. The forecast is, to quote Phil Connors, "It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be gray, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life." In Los Angeles, the weather talent is calling for a high of 61, with a good chance of two excellent Pac-10 basketball games breaking out.

I'm sorry I didn't post anything last night, but the ride from Pullman to Spokane was as bad as I've ever seen it. No more than 40 miles an hour, slick, blowing snow, occasional accident. It took me almost three hours to make the trip, but I did stop a while in Colfax. Pretty darn stressful. But the stories are in the paper today, so here are the links.
