Colfax (12-1), playing in its fourth final, was seeking its first state title since 2001.

Adna finishes 13-0.

Final statistics can be found on the extended entry.

Mike Vlahovich will post his unedited game story in about an hour.

Colfax created another opportunity when Tyler McNannay, who had two fumbles of his own, recovered one at midfield with 8:19 to go.

McNannay took an option pitch, darting 44 yards up the sideline to give Colfax first and goal at the 6.

It took four plays but Colfax cashed in on fourth-and-one on a plunge by McNannay. But the 2-point conversion failed when an Alex Teade pass was intercepted in the end zone.

Colfax running back Tyler McNannay caught a 4-yard swing pass for a touchdown, and he caught the ensuing pass on the 2-point conversion attempt, pulling the Bulldogs within a TD and 2-point conversion with 11:24 remaining.

Earlier, Colfax finally got a break with Will  Hatley intercepting a pass at Adna's 39.

Another Colfax turnover. The Bulldogs were marching, but a Tyler McNannay fumble at the Adna 13-yard line ended the drive.

And Adna made the Bulldogs pay for it again. The Pirates marched 87 yards on 10 plays, capped when running back Bubba Lara plunged 3 yards to give Adna a 26-10 lead with 6:07 left in the third quarter.

First half highlights

Adna scored its second touchdown within a minute, taking advantage of another Colfax turnover. Quarterback Kyle Gosshans hit Zach Clay on a 5-yard out for the TD with 4 seconds to go before halftime. The PAT extended the Pirates' lead to 19-10.

Adna's Angus Brunoff intercepted a screen pass - Colfax's third turnover in the first half - from Alex Teade at the Colfax 33, returning it 28 yards to the Bulldogs' 10 with 32 seconds to go before intermission.

Adna took advantage of Colfax's second turnover, using five plays to score a go-ahead touchdown when quarterback Kyle Gosshans found Colton Trotter in the back of the end zone on a 5-yard pass. The PAT was wide left and Adna leads 12-10 with 1:07 to go before halftime.

Colfax running back Tyler McNannay fumbled and Adna recovered at the Bulldogs' 46 with 3:14 remaining before halftime.

Colfax took a 10-6 lead when McNanny boots a 39-yard field goal that probably would have been good from 50 at the 5:58 mark.

First quarter is over, Colfax leads 7-6.

The Pirates got the ball back, forcing Colfax to punt. Adna is starting from its 40.

Adna needed just 22 seconds to answer Colfax when running back Anthony Tatum sprinted 80 yards for a TD. He juked a Bulldog defender at the Adna 27 and then turned on the after burners. The point-after kick failed, leaving Colfax ahead 7-6 at the 3:12 mark.

Colfax scored first. Teade hit receiver Kellen Morgan on a play-action pass for an 8-yard touchdown. Tyler McNannay's point-after kick puts the Bulldogs ahead 7-0 at the 3:12 mark of the first quarter.
