Zags cruise past Vikings

Gonzaga got an easy win and a brief injury scare.

The Bulldogs routed NCAA Division III Augustana 79-40 Wednesday at the McCarthey Athletic Center. Senior guard Matt Bouldin collided with an Augustana player on the baseline with 6:54 left in the first half. Bouldin stayed on the floor for a minute or two, holding his head, before leaving on his own power. He sat out the second half as a precautionary measure. (We'll update his condition with the game story post later.)

Steven Gray scored 12 points and Bol Kong and G.J. Vilarino each added 10 as 13 Bulldogs scored and all 14 played. GU built a 40-14 halftime lead and went on to the easy non-conference victory.

Back with the game story in about 90 minutes.
