WSU leads 28-23 at the half

COUGARS

It's halftime and for most of the first 20 minutes, the game has been played at WSU's pace. In fact, other than the three fouls on Klay Thompson – for the second consecutive game Tony Bennett gambled and put Thompson on the floor with two fouls late in the first half and got burned in 5 seconds this time – this half had to be very much to WSU's liking. The Cougars have had some troubles with the Wildcat trap (six first half turnovers have been turned into seven UA points) but when they've handled that, they've shot OK (42 percent). Daven Harmeling has nailed a couple 3-pointers, but he's missed six, including one at the buzzer that banged in-and-out. Still, WSU has a five-point edge. We'll be back at the end. Till then.
