IPFW and tickets for GU-Oklahoma

A quick post on Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne's visit Friday and additional tickets becoming available for the GU-Oklahoma game on Dec. 31st at the Arena.

More below.

--Can't find too many articles on IPFW, which plays Washington State tonight. The Mastodons, under fifth-year coach and former Indiana Hoosier Dane Fife, are 1-1, with a win over NAIA Madonna University and a 29-point loss to Wisconsin.
For the second straight week, Gonzaga will face an opponent that played at WSU the previous night. GU beat Mississippi Valley State in its home opener last Friday, one day after the Delta Devils lost to WSU.

The Mastodons, picked to finish sixth in the Summit League preseason poll, were 13-17 last season. IPFW's top threats appear to be 6-1 guard Jeremy Mixon and 6-6 forward Deilvez Yearby, a transfer from Kansas State.

Yearby scored 20 points in 15 minutes in the win over Madonna, but sat out the Wisconsin game (coach's decision). He was the Summit League's sixth man of the year last season. He played sparingly as a freshman (14 games) at K-State.

Mixon is averaging 15.5 points and has made 3 of 5 3-pointers. He's averaging 20 minutes per game.

There's some more info on IPFW here, and here's a link to the IPFW basketball Web site. There, you can find rosters, bios, stats and game recaps of their first two outings.

--Additional tickets have been made availabel for the Ronald McDonald House Charities Classic, Gonzaga vs Oklahoma, December 31st at 7 in the Spokane Arena. The tickets will go on sale Friday morning at 10 through TicketsWest outlets.

Tickets are available in the upper and lower levels including a limited number of seats on the basketball floor. Proceeds from the fourth annual Classic support the local Ronald McDonald House.
