Panhandle Picks

Click the tab to see Greg Lee's forecast of North Idaho football games this week.

I had my first perfect week, going 11-0. That makes my overall record 32-9 (.780).

Post Falls at Lake City: The Trojans will win. It would be interesting to see if the Timberwolves can play a first half without spotting an opponent a 28-0 lead. LC will simplify things to try to eliminate mistakes. But the Trojans are playing well offensively and defensively. PF 28, LC 13.

Caldwell at Coeur d'Alene: The Vikings suffered their first loss last week, a road setback at Centennial. Coeur d'Alene will bounce back in a big way in a rare Thursday game. CdA 31, Caldwell 13.

Sandpoint at Lewiston: If the Bengals defend the run like they did against Sunnyside last week - read not defend the run - then the Bulldogs can win this road game. But Lewiston quarterback Justin Podrabsky will be the difference here. Lewiston 26, Sandpoint 21.

West Valley at Lakeland: The Eagles are flying high, the Hawks would like to fly two weeks in a row. WV 30, Lakeland 20.

Timberlake at Orofino: The Maniacs are the defending Intermountain League champs. This is a big test for the Tigers. They thoroughly deflated Priest River 37-7 last week. Orofino will have difficulty defending the ground-oriented Tigers. Timberlake 27, Orofino 13.

Bonners Ferry at Priest River: If the Spartans are flat, the Badgers can pull off the upset. Priest River stays on track for the league's second playoff seed. PR 27, BF 20.

St. Maries at Kellogg: Anybody have a coin? Flip ... flip ... flip .... St. Maries 21, Kellogg 13.

Moscow at Connell (Wash.): Connell could be the top A school in eastern Washington. Connell 26, Moscow 20.

Wallace at Kootenai: The Warriors can secure the North Star League title by completing a two-game sweep of the Miners. Wallace can earn a share of the conference title. Kootenai 50, Wallace 42.

Lakeside at Clark Fork: The Knights will run over the Wampus Cats. Lakeside 48, Clark Fork 12.

St. Regis (Mont.) at Mullan: The Tigers scored 50 points on Wallace last week. If they can do that against the Miners St. Regis doesn't stand much of a chance. Mullan 52, St. Regis 18.
