WSU’s football season is about complete

When you think about it, this could be the final day of an overflowing football morning post. It's been almost constant since early August, when the hills outside were green and shorts were a constant apparel item. Now heavy jackets are de rigueur and the hills, well you can't see them under the snow. Which will be the same for football stories after today. Basketball will start to take over the landscape. But for today, we have football, so read on.

• Washington State: We had the news yesterday afternoon concerning Paul Wulff's future, which is also covered by the Times Bud Withers. ... It's funny, we tweeted the news a little after 3:30 p.m. yesterday and by 4 the retweets had filled a couple of pages on my Tweet Deck. ... Some thoughts on Wulff, the Apple Cup and basketball from CougCenter and some Apple Cup musings from Jim Moore.

• Around the Pac-10: The conference has four teams playing in bowl games and two of them are the top tier, BCS games. ... The bowl lineup was anti-climatic. ...
