MSU leads 40-39 at half

COUGARS

Washington State had an opportunity to put Mississippi State away early, but missed free throws – WSU was 4 of 10 for the half – and some defensive lapses out front kept the Bulldogs within range early. WSU lead 25-17 with 9:05 left before intermission on Klay Thompson's last 3 of the half. MSU cut it to 32-27 with nearly 5 minutes left, then scored 8 of its last 13 points from the line. DeAngelo Casto has three fouls - including a T - and Reggie Moore has two - including a phantom intentional - as WSU was called for 11 fouls, five in the final 4 minutes. Kodi Augustus is MSU's offense with 13 points as Ravern Johnson, with Marcus Capers or Klay Thompson shadowing him in the man and WSU's 2-3 zone finding him on the perimeter, has just three. Thompson has 17, Faisal Aden eight off bench. More later.
