Vandals nip Seattle U

Idaho may be starting to put things together. The Vandals hit key crunch-time free throws to hold off Seattle University 87-85 at KeyArena, their second win in a row after six straight losses. UI has settled into a nice offensive balance in wins over Fresno State and Seattle. Tonight it got 13 or more points from four players, led by Steffan Johnson's 18 points. Mac Hopson had nine points and 11 assists before fouling out. Hopson, however, had seven of UI's 24 turnovers.

The Vandals (10-10) sank 23 of 31 free throws, and connected on seven of eight in the final 28.8 seconds. They play at Utah State and Boise State next week before hosting Nevada on Feb. 10.
