GU women dominate WCC awards

All kinds of deja vu for the Gonzaga women and the West Coast Conference post-season honors.

Courtney Vandersloot repeats as MVP, Vandersloot, Heather Bowman and Vivian Frieson repeat as first-team selections, Kelly Graves is Coach of the Year for the fifth time in 10 seasons, Katelan Redmon is Newcomer of the Year and Tiffany Shives is honorable mention.

And those are some pretty significant numbers for Gonzaga: Bowman is only the third player to be all-league four times, Vandersloot is only the third player to repeat at MVP, Graves is the first five-time winner.

About what you'd expect from a team that has moved into 17th in the AP poll (my vote below) after only the third perfect season in the WCC, and second by Gonzaga, which is riding a 14-game winning streak..

Check back later for the expanded story. We've got an interview with Graves in about an hour and hopefully Vandersloot will be available.
