Looking ahead to Saturday’s football, basketball games

COUGARS

We're headed for an early end to the night, but before we go we wanted to pass along a couple links and some news about Reid Forrest. Read on.
••••••••••

• We have our advance on tomorrow's game up on the S-R website, so we can pass that along. We also have a basketball advance for tomorrow's official season opener with Southern. The Jaguars will be playing their second game in as many nights after losing 117-72 to Gonzaga tonight. ... Now for the Forrest news. The Washington State punter is one of two Pac-10 punters to survive the Ray Guy Award cut and be named a semifinalist, of which there are 10. You can read more about it here.... There were also a couple questions wondering if their was any resolution to the Jamal Atafou, Andre Barrington situation. The answer is no. We ask every week and the answer is the same. We'll let you know when we know something.

•••

• OK, that's all for now. We'll be back in the morning with a pregame post before we get ready for the quick drive to Corvallis (we are staying in Salem tonight). Until then ...
