Ex-Zags Daye, Turiaf open NBA season

Former Bulldogs' Austin Daye and Ronny Turiaf had mixed results in their NBA season-openers.

Daye started and played 21 minutes, but only had four points (2 of 8 shooting) and three boards as Detroit blew a seven-point lead in the final two minutes and lost to New Jersey. More here, here and box here.

Turiaf came off the New York Knicks bench and scored eight points, grabbed four boards, blocked four shots and had two steals in 23 minutes. He left in the fourth quarter of the Knicks' win with a sore back after accidentally colliding with teammate Amar'e Stoudemire. Turiaf also took a flagrant elbow to the face from the Raptors' David Andersen. More here, here, here and box here.
