Fun reading this morning as the Gonzaga-Michigan State game approaches Saturday night. The storylines are plentiful with many centering around Jud Heathcote, the former Spartans coach who lives in Spokane and takes in nearly every GU home game. Heathcote paved the way for Izzo to succeed him at MSU and he remains close to the program. The retired coach also counsels Mark Few during regular breakfast/lunch meetings.

John Blanchette visited with Heathcote and Izzo for this column. Here's more on Heathcote/Few/Izzo.
