I put together a notebook from Monday's media day with topics ranging from David Stockton and Mike Hart (pictured above) being put on a scholarship for the rest of the year to Sam Dower's improvement to the WCC race at the halfway point.

GU now has 12 players on scholarship (13 is the NCAA limit).

One note that didn't make the notes. Rob Sacre, who spends quite a bit of time visiting relatives in Louisiana in the offseason, was asked to predict a Super Bowl winner.

"I hate both teams so I don't really care," Sacre said. "I just know that the Saints are going to the Super Bowl the next five years so it doesn't really matter."

--Saint Mary's senior Mickey McConnell and Portland freshman Tim Douglas shared player of the week honors. McConnell scored 27 points and hit the game-winner against Gonzaga. Douglas, in his first two career starts, scored 40 points in Pilots' wins over San Diego and Saint Mary's.
