Our man covering the Idaho state tournaments, specifically Coeur d'Alene, filed this item looking ahead to tonight's semifinal game against Highland:

A look ahead

CdA (19-5) vs. Highland (23-1), 7 p.m. PST

After the first round of games from the 5A girls state, this year’s final four looks the same as last season with the same matchups. A year ago, CdA defeated Highland 48-39 to advance to the title game.

This year, CdA will have to do it again, matching up against Highland’s twin towers – Dakota and Dylan Gonzalez.

“It’ll be just like last year,” CdA coach Dale Poffenroth said. “They’re a year older and taller than last time we played them. We’re expecting another tough game against them.”
