WSU picks up a Kansas transfer

COUGARS

We put together a short story on Kansas transfer Royce Woolridge announcing he's headed to Washington State. Read on.

••••••••••

• When Woolridge came out of Phoenix's Sunnyslope High in 2010, he was a 3-star recruit by Scout and Rivals and earned a 93 rating according to ESPN as the 33rd-ranked shooting guard in his class. All those accolades earned him just 44 minutes of playing time his freshman year at Kansas, in which he scored nine points. In April he announced he was going to transfer. His final too choices were WSU (Pac-12) or Pepperdine (Malibu). He picked Pullman. ... From what I understand, he's what coaches call a high-volume scorer, meaning he needs to take a lot of shots to get his points. When he's on, he's tough to contain. Kind of like Faisal Aden, whose spot on the roster Woolridge would fill in a year, when he's eligible. ... When the story becomes available online, I'll pass it along. (As you can see from the link, it's available.) ... Here is Woolridge's Kansas bio page and here's a blog post from the Arizona Republic's Doug Haller, who talked with Woolridge today. Haller has some videos of Woolridge. ... As an extra-added attraction, Athlon has ranked WSU 85th in the nation for the fall football season.

• That's all for now. As usual, we'll be back when events warrant. Until then ...
