Impressive opener for Gonzaga, WSU falls
Wondering how the Gonzaga women would do without Courtney Vandersloot?
In their first game without the best player in program history, the Bulldogs cracked 100 points and beat a quality Hofstra team 101-88. Seniors Kayla Standish, Katelan Redmon and Kelly Bowen combined for more than half those points and a host of newcomers were impressive and Jasmine Redmon, while not Courtney Vandersloot, is a capable replacement with help from several others.
Across the country, Washington State gave No. 12 Penn State all it could handle before falling by a dozen.
