EWU begins spring drills

The Eagles opened spring drills Tuesday afternoon, and here's my story from Roos Field, where I will be again this afternoon (wearing snow boots, judging by what I see outside this morning). I will also be sending regular Tweets, so please follow me at @srjimallen.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Big Sky Conference is gearing up for spring ball...

At Montana, folks are still shaking their heads at the recent firings of football coach Robin Pflugrad and AD Jim O'Day...Montana State may have the same issue as Eastern in the secondary: lots of veterans, but not enough depth...Portland State won't open spring drills until April 9, but here's an early look at the Vikings, courtesy of the Oregonian.

LILLARD DECLARES FOR NBA DRAFT - Damian Lillard opted Tuesday to make himself eligible for the NBA draft, and here's a nice package from the Ogden Standard-Examiner on the Weber State guard, who is projected to be chosen early in the first round.
