Chiefs gear up for three-game homestand
The Spokane Chiefs have been away from the Arena since Nov. 24, but home fans are about to get a pre-Christmas treat. Spokane will greet three U.S. Division rivals in five days - Friday against Seattle; Saturday against Tri-City and Tuesday against first-place Portland - before getting nine days off for the holiday. Spokane is 12-2 at home, but one loss was a 9-1 setback against Portland. The Chiefs are 22-8-1-0 after winning five of six games on a nine-day swing of the East Division. I just talked to Spokane's Todd Fiddler, who is tied for the Western Hockey League lead with 23 goals. Look for the story before Friday's game.
