KEN BONE

(On Jahii Carson) "He did a good job all game long, but the second half, especially at the end of the game, he really took over. I think he made six of his last seven attempts and we just couldn’t stop him."

(More on Carson) "He hit the fiurst shot of the game when we backed off him… for the most part in the first half the defense against him worked fairly well. But it’s a 40-minute game."

(More on Carson) "Jahii’s penetration hurt us multiple ways, and one of them was freeing up teammates for shots, which (Carrick) Felix, he was able to capitalize on that situation and hit some 3s."

(On ASU's offensive rebounds on free throws) "It was a huge factor. Very disappointing we couldn’t come up with rebounds on missed free throws down the stretch. That hurt us tremendously."

(On Royce Woolridge) "I liked the way Royce was very aggressive and made some real positive plays down the stretch. Like you said, against Oregon State down the stretch he did the same thing."

(On Brock Motum falling down and whether he was fouled) "From my view I don’t know. From my view, I thought he got pushed, but maybe I didn’t see it right. The officials were a lot closer to that than I was. But I was very close to when we scored and they took the ball out of bounds, they passed it, Felix passed it to Gilling inbounds and then Gilling turned and stepped out of bounds. That’s a violation. I know I saw that."

(On the difference in foul calls between first and second halves) "I thought the two teams were more aggressive the second half, therefore there were more fouls, and they called the fouls."

(More on Woolridge) "He’s the one that can get the ball into the paint probably as good, if not better than anybody else on our team."

(On DaVonte Lacy's hand wrap) "He’s kind of had a nagging injury and he got it hit the other day."

 

DEXTER KERNICH-DREW

(On Carson's final layup) "Basically, coaches told us to switch everything, so switch on-ball, and (an ASU player) was coming up to set a screen and I was kind of cheating a bit so I could switch on whoever it was, and he just went right and I got caught napping a little bit and he basically just made a shot."

(On guarding Carson) "Game plan at first was to kind of let him shoot it and he knocked like three or four 3s or whatever it was (two), and I guess we kind of had to account for that a little bit so we took a couple steps up but he’s a pretty good ball-handler and he’s quick so it’s hard to keep in front of him like that. I guess I just take that one and go into the next game and get better."

(On taking and making important shots) "Playing off the bench, somebody’s got to come out and help the team, so I’ve been hitting 3s now so I need to do a little bit to step up and be that guy they can count on off the bench to play defense and score."

ROYCE WOOLRIDGE

(On stepping up and driving more) "Mike was playing well and it started to get late-game situations and I just felt I needed to step up because earlier in the game I wasn’t doing very much and I needed to step up for my team."

(On pulling out close games) "What it comes down to is just getting stops. I feel like it doesn’t come down to execution, I feel like we executed really well. Down the stretch they got a lot of offensive rebounds and I eel like that's what really hurt us more so than execution."

(On Carson) "He made some big shots. He hit three or four (two) 3s and he was just making shots. He played well. I tip my hat to him. He did a great job in the second half."
