New Year’s links from WSU

COUGARS

A new year is upon us, which means ... we're going to pass along our morning links as we always do. Read on.

...

On the blog yesterday, we recapped WSU's year in sports by handing out a few end-of-year honors. And that's all there is to pass along on the WSU front.

In Pac-12 basketball news ... Arizona's newest in-conference rival might very well be Colorado. ... Here's a preview of the Pac-12 basketball season from the Salt Lake Tribune. ... Oregon State bounced back from a bad loss to Towson with an 84-59 win over Texas Pan-American. ... Oregon remains unbeaten at home after beating Nevada 56-43.

In Pac-12 football news ... USC finished its disappointing season in most disappointing fashion: with a 21-7 loss to Georgia Tech in the Sun Bowl. One of the Trojans' top receivers is leaving school to enter the NFL draft. ... Stanford will try to rectify the Pac-12's bowl season misgivings when it faces Wisconsin in today's Rose Bowl game (2 p.m., ESPN). ... Chip Kelly's name has come up in relation to more than one NFL coaching searches. Here's a fun Fiesta Bowl column by John Canzano. Kelly fielded some interesting questions at media day.

That's all we have to link today. Happy New Year.
