KEN BONE

"Our guys worked hard ot come back and I'm proud of the fact that they did. They scrapped and battled and did everything they could and then down the stretch maybe we just put out too much energy and were not able to execute some things in the last few minutes."

(On UW's defense of Motum) "They did a good job of taking that high post  pass away, no doubt about it. We have counters to that but you definitely didn’t see them tonight."

(On WSU's shooting) "We had some pretty good looks. There were times we had some decent shots but that just kind of multiplied our problem. ... When we did get some shots, whether they were shots right next to the basket or open looks on the perimeter we just weren’t abel to put those down early in the game."

(On DaVonte Lacy's missed late 3-pointer) "He had a decent look and he’s very good at shooting that and I liked the fact  that he was confident enough to step up and shoot it, but it didn’t go in."

(On calling two timeouts early in the second half to secure possession) "In this game we wanted every possession we could get. There was one I didn’t care for in the second half. We were scrapping and fighting and wanted that loose ball so we wanted to make sure we were rewarded with the ball by calling a timeout."

(More on UW's defense of Motum) "They did a great job of just denying him the ball. We tried throwing over the top, we tried sealing, we tried to do a few other things that we’re going to have to improve on prior to playing them again and anybody else that takes away the high post."

(On UW's back-to-back baskets from offensive rebounds) "Not only offensive rebounds but deep post touches. (Aziz) N’Diaye got the ball within three, four feet of the basket and once he gets it there he’s really good. So we need ot continue to work on our post defense and continue to work on rebounding. Our guys all did a good job on the glass."

"We’ve got to turn the page and get onto the next game. Obviously when you play your rival, it’s probably that much more incentive to just want to win but it’s not like this game was this big a deal and the next games are not as important."

(On Will DiIorio's 3-pointers) "That was great to see. Will has developed over the last couple years to become a decent shooter. The way he was being guarded he had the open shot."

(Do you encourage him to shoot those?) "He’s a very unselfish kid, he understands he’s not one of the better 3-point shooters on the team so he dodesn’t look for it very often. Tonight because of the way they guarded him, he had the open look."

BROCK MOTUM

(On coming back) "We were resilient and we knew it was going to be a close game in the end. We can compete with anyone on our home court. I’ll say that every time we play someone tough or anyone for that matter. The crowd was great. It was just tough that we missed our first seven or eight shots in a row and they converted on a lot."

(On the slow start) "I think just uncharacteristically missed shots. Not just myself but the rest of the team. Four points with like nine minutes left in the first half, I think. Something like that. That’s just tough for any team to come back, I don’t care who you are. It was still good of our guys to come back, like I said. If that was first game jitters for  the conference, I think they’re out now."

"This game's over so we'll move on. We'll come to practice Monday, we'll do a scout like we always do for every team and we'll try to get a couple wins down there."

(On DiIorio) "He’s a good shooter. He proved that tonight. He does that at practice all the time. … The opportunity presented itself tonight and he hit them."
