Medicine Hat makes most of its shots
Boston Leier and Hunter Shinkaruk scored second-period goals Saturday to give the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers a 2-1 lead over the Spokane Chiefs in Western Hockey League play. Spokane outshot the Tigers 20-7 in the second period and just missed scoring seconds before Leier's goal at 3:39. Spokane went 0 for 2 on the power play during the period to continue a six-game swoon in which the Chiefs are 1 for 27 with an extra man.
