The start of a Chiefs-Americans trend

The Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans already know one another well, but starting tonight the Western Hockey League archrivals will be nearly inseparable for the next couple of weeks. The Chiefs and Americans will play one another six times in the next 14 days -- tonight and Saturday in regular-season games, and four times between next Friday and March 28 in a first-round playoff series. More Chiefs-Ams games will follow if the best-of-seven series isn't wrapped up by March 28. Spokane leads the season series 5-3-2. Game time is 25 minutes away, but the Chiefs, playing their final regular-season game at the Arena, will hand out team awards before the puck is dropped.
