Postseason hockey arrives for Chiefs

Regular-season records are a thing of the past as the Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans prepare for the opening game of the Western Hockey League first-round playoff tonight at the Arena. The Chiefs have home ice for the best-of-seven series for finishing five points ahead of the Americans in Western Conference standings. Spokane was 7-3-2-0 against the Americans during the regular season. The teams have met six times in postseason, with Spokane winning four. But the American won last year's second-round series by taking Game 7. Game time is 15 minutes away.
