A slow Monday with WSU

COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN -- Finally back in Eastern Washington, where it's probably about the same temperature it was in Salt Lake City. There isn't a lot of WSU-related news on this March morning, but we found enough stories to make it through our post, so read on.

...

The WSU baseball team scored a whole bunch of runs and beat Brown, 20-1, in the third game of a four-game series. ... The Daily Evergreen reported yesterday on a scuffle involving a WSU football player (and, possibly, members of the Idaho football team). If arrests are made, we'll have more details. ... The National Football Post looks at some of the storylines surrounding WSU's spring practices.

Around the Pac-12 ... A day after denying that it had fired coach Ben Howland, UCLA went ahead and fired coach Ben Howland. The coach paid the price for not living up the school's ridiculously high expectations. ... Arizona's trip to the Sweet 16  in Los Angeles wound up being a loop. ... Oregon is preparing to face Louisville's full-court pressure. ... Colorado should receive another influx of talent next season.

That's all for now.
