From Pullman -- Yesterday's practice was almost uneventful. With this spring game on Saturday the Cougars took the pads off for Thursday's practice and went through their normal drills, which you can read about in our practice report. But not long after that report was filed the real news came down. We mentioned that Washington State hosted a pair of high-profile recruits during practice and before the night was over quarterback Tyler Hilinski became a Cougar. He may be the Cougars' quarterback of the future, but our story for the paper focuses on quarterback of the present Connor Halliday and his return to Joe Albi Stadium. It was a big day for Cougars of the past as well, with former WSU cornerback Marcus Trufant retiring with the hometown team. Garfield's Tramaine Isabell has decided to stick with WSU.
