Spokane's goalies were efficient during the preseason, allowing two goals or less in four of the seven games.
"I think our goaltending’s been solid," coach Don Nachbaur said after the Chiefs' 2-1 overtime loss to Tri-City on Sept. 11 at Eastern Washington University. "I don’t think ... one guy’s emerged. I think they’ve all had great showings. It’s going to be a tough decision for our staff."
Spokane finished 2-2-3-0 during the exhibition season, but Nachbaur looked beyond the record.
"It’s evaluation time," he said. "We’re asking our kids to get better every day. I saw a marked improvement (Sept. 11) with a lot of our players from our last exhibition game against these guys. And that’s a process. We have to go through the process. We can’t look at winning and losing."
