Morning links: when recruiting gets nasty

The NFL season is over and it won't be that long before college teams begin their spring practices.

But the big  news for now is that on Wednesday the coaches will sign their 2015 recruits to national letters of intent, binding the prospect and the program.

The players in the 2015 class have been recruited for a year if not longer and as their final deadline approaches the stakes go up for the players and for their future coaches. The pressure to sign players that can deliver wins leads many coaches to skirt some ethical lines or cast other programs in a negative light.

That's the thrust of this article by ESPN's Jeremy Crabtree that is worth a read.

Below we have some links from around the Pac-12.

-- Speaking of haywire recruiting, a receiver that committed to play at WSU may or may not be heading to Michigan.

-- Washington has a quarterback recruit that put up some eye-popping passing numbers in high school.

-- Is Arizona somehow underrated?

-- California beat Washington thanks to a late shot from an unlikely hero.

-- Colorado can't keep going those long periods without scoring and have type of success.

-- Oregon already has enough unique uniform combinations to last for more than 1,000 years.

-- Utah's defense was in championship form as it smothered USC on Sunday.
