REPORT: Bam Hardmon, Ashley Ambrose leaving Idaho football program
Respected coaching carousel website Footballscoop.com has reported that Idaho defensive line coach Bam Hardmon and defensive backs coach Ashley Ambrose will be leaving the program.
Hardmon is reported to be leaving for the same job at Troy University. Ambrose is reported to be leaving to become the cornerbacks coach at Texas State University.
Idaho has yet to confirm their departues.
Their departures would mean six assistant coaches have departed Idaho since Paul Petrino was hired prior to the 2013 season. DL coach Patrick Libey and LB coach Mike Anderson left after spring practices in 2013. CB coach Mike Mickens departed for the same job at Bowling Green prior to the 2014 season. OL coach Jon Carvin left the program prior to the 2014 season as well.
Ambrose was hired to replace Mickens. Hardmon was hired prior to the start of the 2013 season to replace Libey.
Footballscoop.com has reported that University of San Diego defensive line coach Kenny Holmes has been tabbed as the leading candidate to replace Hardmon.
Holmes was recruited to Miami by former Idaho coach Dennis Erickson in 1992 and spent seven years in the NFL with the Titans and Giants.
