Texas defensive back commits to WSU

Spring, Texas cornerback Willie Sykes committed to play football at Washington State on Monday evening.

Britton Ransford of first reported the news, and says that Sykes chose the Cougars over scholarship offers from Purdue, Nebraska, Oregon State, Utah and others. Both Rivals and rate Sykes as a two-star prospect but his scholarship offers seem to indicate he's a good prospect.

Sykes is 6-foot, 180-pounds and is supposed to be very fast.

He is the third defensive back Mike Leach's staff has recruited out of Texas, joining Charleston White and Darius Lemora.
