The news came at midday Wednesday, ironically as I was working on this story about EWU's football schedule. A blogger who covers Oregon had Tweeted simply that unnamed sources said that EWU quarterback Vernon Adams was planning a weekend visit to Eugene. That led to my calling Vernon Adams directly, which led to my first story appearing in The Spokesman-Review. Others took it from there, including the Oregonian, the Eugene Register-Guard, and the Seattle Times, plus ESPN.com, among others. We came back with this later version of the story, the one that arrived with your morning newspaper. This morning, our own Vince Grippi weighed in on the subject in his morning blog. The news also was big on fan sites as well, especially at Eastern Washington, Oregon and even Montana. Stay tuned: there will be more.
