GU, Pitt called off due to unsafe court conditions

Gonzaga's season opener didn't last long. One half, to be exact.

Playing in the Armed Forces Classic in Okinawa, Japan, unsafe court conditions prompted game officials to call the contest off prior to the start of the second half. Pitt led 37-35 after the first half.

It was obvious in the opening minutes that players were losing their footing on the court, which was slippery from humidity and rains earlier Friday. Officials decided to call it because the court wasn't safe for the players.
