Morning links: Cougars emerge victorious in double OT

Washington State went into Autzen Stadium and came out with a win. It had been awhile.

It had been 12 years, in fact, since the Cougars won a game in Eugene. And it sure was close this time. But WSU executed in all three phases well enough to beat Oregon and pick up a win that they hope can be a springboard to a successful season.

Here is our story from the game, notebook, keys to the game, and postgame videos of Mike Leach, Luke Falk and some other Cougars. We also have postgame notes and the final stats.

Stefanie Loh of the Seattle Times has a story from the game. …  SportsPressNW.com has its takeaways from the game. … Brian Floyd at CougCenter wrote about how special this win was for WSU fans. … Mike Leach wasn't a huge fan of Oregon's Lewis and Clark tribute. … The official WSU Twitter account got a bit cheeky after the win.

And in other good news for the Cougars, Portland State beat North Texas in the largest-ever win by an FCS team over and FBS one and Rutgers came up one brain fart short against Michigan State.

Utah is the only undefeated Pac-12 team after its win over California. Arizona State made easy work of Colorado. WSU's next opponent, Oregon State, was buried by Arizona.
