WCC Men's Basketball

Gonzaga Bulldogs (19-5, 11-2)

at Portland Pilots (11-15, 5-8)

Thursday, Feb. 11, 8 p.m. | Chiles Center, Portland

Watch: TV: ESPNU, Online: WatchESPN.com

Outlook: Portland had dropped eight of nine before getting healthy last week with road wins over Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount. The Pilots rely on guards/wings, dribble penetration and the 3-point shot. They’ve made a conference-leading 249 3s with 38-percent accuracy, second best in the WCC. Point guard Alec Wintering (19 ppg, 39 3s, 140 made free throws) leads the way, but other scoring sources include wings Bryce Pressley (13.6 ppg, 53 3s) and D’Marques Tyson (10.9 ppg, 75 3s) and undersized ‘4’ Jarrel Marshal (7.6 ppg, 18 3s). Seven Pilots have made at least 10 3-pointers. Gonzaga is second nationally in 3-point defense (28 percent) and limited Portland to 4-of-20 3-point shooting in an 85-74 win last month. - Jim Meehan
