Video: WSU players after UCLA

CHARLES CALLISON

(The importance of this win?)

It means a lot ot us and a great thing for us too, because it gives us energy and for the next game it gives us confidence. That's the biggest thing for us, confidence. It really builds our confidence.

Great for us. That's all I can say is great for us. And like I said, it builds confidence for us for the next game, we're going to be even faster

JOSH HAWKINSON

(Difference between this and USC game?)

I think maybe it just took one game maybe to adjust to Pac-12 play just since we have all these new guys that come out hard every single time, because there's not an easy team in the Pac-12. And I think we set the tone in the first half and it continued out for the rest of the game.

(How did you improve so drastically?)

We just kind of had a talk within the leaders of our team. Just neeed to come out prepared and we needed to to individually what we needed to do and as a team, too. Get your sleep, hydrate, recovery. All those little things just add into a win and it's not really noticed, but it helps you come out with more energy and it showed tonight.

(Easier for you to play with Junior Longrus on the floor?)

I think so. Junior's a really fun player to play with. He's unselfish, he does all the little things right, he's really good defensively. He's athletic so he can guard guards all the way up to the big guys. So when I'm playing with him, he doesn't exactly look for his shot as much, so he's trying to find me and trying to give me the ball and score and he did that a couple times tonight.

(Expected UCLA to be tired?)

We saw a lot of their guys played in the 40s of minutes in the game against UW, so we knew we had to come at them from the beginning. And I think since I've been here, we haven't lost at home to UCLA. We won my freshman year and sophomore year and I don;t think we played them last year. We want to continue to set the trend, so keep it up next year I guess.

CONOR CLIFFORD

(How you were able to beat UCLA?)

This was really just a bounce back game for us, so us not getting our second loss, we were able to bounce back, get our momentum and charge into the next game head-on.

(What was the battle like against Tony Parker and Thomas Welsh?)

They were both great competitors and to have good size to battle against, it was really nice actually, because I didn't really have to guard those fast, small guys. I got someone to battle and bang with so it was really nice.
