“The African American Spiritual Tradition: Tell the World”
Presented by the Palouse Choral Society. Songs trace the history of African American spirituals, from African roots to slavery, Civil Rights songs and gospel music. This tradition speaks to universal issues of the human condition—hardship, joy, sorrow and hope. Selections by Moses Hogan, Robert Shaw and Alice Parker, André Thomas, Thomas Dorsey, Rollo Dilworth, Keith Hampton, Byron Smith and William Dawson. March 2 performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 1410 NE Stadium Way, Pullman. March 4 performance will begin at 4 p.m. at Silverthorne Theatre, 500 Eighth Ave., Lewiston.
