Kunka ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2005 and 2009, and for City Council in 2007. He’s been a longtime advocate of using targeted tax incentives to bring more “living-wage” jobs.

On this race:

This is Joe Kunka's third run for mayor. The 53-year-old former Marine is a salesman with Specialty Recreation & Marine. He has been a Little League volunteer for 15 years. Kunka received 37.5 percent of the vote in his unsuccessful challenge to Mayor Bloem four years ago.
