In her words: “I have three kids in the district and I just like to be as involved as I can.”

Her pitch: Breckner doesn’t see any major problems in the district. However, believes it’s important to keep a focus on those students that don’t have parental support at home.

Notable Experience: Has served on the board for eight years. Breckner has three kids who went through the district. She currently serves as the District’s legislative representative.

Education: Graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1993. Earned a cosmetology degree from Spokane Community Falls in 1996.

Gerry Ashby

In his words: “I think we need a little fresh blood in the mix. If I’m elected that’s exactly what I’ll do.”

His pitch: Ashby believes that the school board needs to work harder to connect with teachers and parents. He said that if elected he would meet with teachers and administrators to get a sense of the district’s needs.

Notable Experience: Served for 24 years in the United States Air Force.

Education: Graduated from Riverside High School in 1983. Earned a degree from the United States Air Force Academy in 1989. Earned a master’s degree from the United States Air Force Institute of Technology in 1996. Earned a master’s degree in systems engineering from Strayer University in 2010.
