The slow burn by U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers to secure changes for veterans’ care in Spokane just fell through the roof. Literally. Based on complaints funneled through a group of veterans who have protested for a year over a lack of cooperation from the staff at Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center, McMorris Rodgers asked for staff from the House Veterans Affairs Committee to come to Spokane in June and investigate conditions at the hospital. That probe found an unexpected hole in the roof.

It took 43 minutes to distribute the 300 tickets available for U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ Town Hall meeting scheduled for Thursday. The tickets were distributed through an event planning website. Those who got tickets still must show proof of residency within McMorris Rodgers’ 5th Congressional District at the door. Tickets became available at 10 a.m. Tuesday. They were gone at 10:43 a.m.
McMorris Rodgers will hold town hall at Gonzaga University on Thursday
The congresswoman will host a free event requiring a ticket at Gonzaga University on Thursday at 5 p.m. Recent town halls have been held at the Lincoln Center. It will be McMorris Rodgers’ first open-to-the-public town hall appearance since the 2016 election.
